Circle of 6: An Anti-Violence App(lication) for iPhone and Android
This app is free for download and won an award from the White House Acts Against Abuse Technology Challenge. It is a way for someone who feels they may be at risk for sexual violence or currently experiences violence or abuse in their relationship to reach out to a circle of friends and national resources. An interesting idea, putting control of situations possibly, literally, in the palm of the individual’s hand. The website also has printable resources for you family, friends, clients, and community.

Dispelling the Midwife Identity Crisis by Robyn Carlisle
A very brief discussion about the confusion among the naming of midwives, midwifery, and our self-identification and promotion. This needs to be figured out to advance our profession and stand as a united group, fighting for the advancement of healthy births and normal, low-intervention care.
There’s a pretty sweet group of midwives working on putting numbers to the work, and this recent paper on the use of nitrous oxide in labor is one of the outputs. Check out the findings and recommendations!
